Webflow Libraries Now Carry Custom Fonts Along With Components and Variables
Webflow libraries can now include custom fonts, so sites that install a shared library no longer need fonts added by hand.
Webflow has added support for custom fonts in Libraries, according to its release notes for the update published October 15, 2026. Libraries now carry your fonts along with components and variables, so you no longer have to manually re-add fonts on every site that installs a shared library.
Before this change, teams sharing a library had to make sure each site had the right typefaces set up separately. With fonts bundled into the library itself, a shared design system can include its typography as part of the package, which helps components and their text styling stay consistent across projects.
Why it matters
Typography is a core part of most design systems, and manual font setup is an easy place for sites to drift out of sync. Bundling fonts with components and variables reduces that setup work and makes shared libraries more self-contained. Teams that maintain several sites from one library are likely to find the change most useful.
What to do
If you manage a shared Webflow library, review which custom fonts it uses and test a library install on a staging site before rolling the change out more widely. Teams evaluating Webflow for multi-site design systems should read the release notes and confirm details such as font licensing and plan availability on Webflow’s website.
