Kiro adds credit pooling for teams at $20 per seat
Kiro's new credit pooling lets Enterprise teams share one credit pool across seats, which changes how usage limits and billing work.
Amazon Web Services has added credit pooling to Kiro, letting teams share one credit allowance across their seats. The feature was announced on the Kiro blog on November 4, 2026, in a post titled “Share Kiro credits across your team with credit pooling.”
Teams pay $20 per seat per month, with a minimum of two seats. Each seat adds 500 included credits to a shared pool that every seat holder can use, and those credits reset monthly. Admins can buy add-on credits for the pool at $0.04 each. Purchased credits take effect immediately and roll over for up to 12 months.
When a user reaches their limit, usage is blocked until an admin buys more credits, since there are no overages. Admins can set limits at the profile, group and individual level, and individual limits take precedence. Alerts fire by default at 80% and 100%.
Credit pooling is for Kiro Enterprise customers and is billed through their AWS account. It is the default for new Enterprise customers, and existing Enterprise customers can opt in when ready. Individual tiers are unchanged.
Why it matters
The trade-off is half the credits. An individual Pro seat costs $20 and includes 1,000 credits, while a pooled team seat at the same price includes 500. Pooling works best for teams whose usage is uneven, because heavy and light users can draw from one shared allowance.
What to do
Enterprise admins should estimate team usage against 500 credits per seat before opting in, and set alerts and individual limits early. Confirm current pricing, opt-in details and the status of features marked “coming soon” on the Kiro website. Every Kiro plan with its credits and sources is on our Kiro limits page.
